Contraindications of Viagra

Don’t take Viagra if you have heart problems, especially angina (chest pain) or have had a recent heart attack or stroke. High or low blood pressure also represent significant contraindications.

Viagra is unsuitable if you suffer from inherited retinal diseases like retinitis pigmentosa. This is because Viagra can affect your vision.

Avoid Viagra if you have a history of priapism (a prolonged and painful erection lasting more than four hours). This condition needs immediate medical attention.

Men with severe liver or kidney disease should not use Viagra. These conditions can affect how the medication is processed by your body.

Caution is advised if you’re taking nitrates for chest pain. Combining Viagra with nitrates can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.

Certain other medications may interact negatively with Viagra. Discuss all your current medications with your doctor before taking Viagra.

Finally, if you have a known allergy to sildenafil (the active ingredient in Viagra) or any of its components, avoid its use entirely. Always consult your physician before starting any new medication.
