When to Seek Medical Attention

Contact your doctor immediately if you experience a severe allergic reaction, including hives, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing. These are signs of a serious allergic reaction and require immediate medical attention.

Seek medical help if your symptoms worsen or don’t improve after 72 hours of taking amoxicillin. This includes persistent fever, severe diarrhea, or ongoing skin rash.

If you notice dark urine, jaundice (yellowing of your skin or eyes), or unusual bleeding or bruising, contact your doctor right away. These could indicate liver or blood problems.

Report any new or worsening symptoms to your physician. This might include headaches, dizziness, or changes in your mood or behavior.

Do not stop taking amoxicillin without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better. Stopping treatment prematurely can lead to treatment failure.

Remember to inform your doctor about all medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements, before starting amoxicillin.
